Synovus, the Columbus, Georgia-based diversified financial services company has been named No 57 on FORTUNE magazine's ninth annual listing of "100 Best Companies To Work for". The company was ranked No 16 among the 38 "Large Companies" making the list, which represents organizations with more than 10,000 U.S. employees. Also, it has been named to the FORTUNE list for the past nine years, and was inducted into its "Hall of Fame" in 2005, which recognizes companies that have been on the list each year since its inception in 1998. "It is an honour to again be named one of this country's best places to work for," said Richard Anthony, Synovus, CEO.

Synovus was also recently named to Forbes magazine's " Platinum 400 list of America's Best Big Companies." Forbes list recognizes companies that have outperformed the stock market over the past 12 months. Also, U.S. Banker magazine has named Synovus at No 17 on its list of the "Top 20 U.S Banks for 2006." U.S Banker recognizes banks for outpacing the industry average in return on equity and was noted for strong credit quality, higher loan and deposit growth and strong organic growth.
