Radiant Systems will be expanding into the retail market with the acquisition of Synchronics, Inc. The Atlanta-based company recently completed a deal to purchase Synchronics, a Tennessee-based software development, support and distribution company, for $27.5 million. The purchase price is comprised of approximately $20 million in cash plus $7.5 million in shares.
Synchronics provides point-of-sale and business management software for the retail market. Radiant Systems' goal is to enhance value to its customers through integrating Synchronics suite of software and services with its current hardware and software modules. The target market will include retail specialty segments ranging from single store operators to store chains with hundreds of stores, and will cross many industry segments from apparel to electronics to sporting goods.
