TRX, INC. PRESIDENT & CEO, TRIP DAVIS, Nominated as OUTSTANDING LEADER

Competition TRX, Inc. a leading, independent provider of transaction processing and data integration solutions to the global travel industry, today announced the nomination of Trip Davis, TRX President & CEO, to receive AeA's (American Electronics Association) Southeast Spirit of Endeavor Award in Outstanding Leadership.

AeA presented the awards on 14 September 2006 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. The "Spirit of Endeavor" Awards honors individuals and companies based in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi that have accomplished significant activities in the technology industry.

Davis joined TRX as CEO in December 1999 and has led the company through dramatic growth and transformation over the past six years:

  • Start-up of TRX through the spin-off of the technology assets of a large travel agency in late 1999;
  • Transformation of the company's revenue model to 95% recurring, transaction fee-based model;
  • Establishment of the company's core focus on behind-the-scenes transaction processing and data integration services for travel agencies, travel suppliers, payment providers, and corporations;
  • Establishment of the company's XCELLERS program, which recognizes and rewards dedicated employees who are top performers in the company.
  • Expansion across the UK and Europe, now with the top four online agencies under contract along with several travel suppliers and large travel agencies;
  • Exit from the lower-margin call center business through transitions with clients and deals with partners such at Tata Sons, the largest India-based conglomerate;
  • Penetration into the financial services industry with data integration technologies;
  • Creation of a processing and technology operation in Bangalore, India with approximately 250 associates;
  • Industry leadership as the four-time Chairman of The Masters Program, the premier executive forum for travel industry leaders; and,
  • Completion of the TRX Initial Public Offering (NASDAQ:TRXI) in September 2005.
  • Recently, Davis was honored as one of ten featured alumni in the third annual Alumni Showcase at The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Catalyst Magazine also recognized Davis in its "Top 50 Entrepreneurs" list as the leader of one of Atlanta's best performing small to mid-sized public and private companies with $5 million to $200 million in 2005 revenues.
