NDCHealth will become the latest company to join Alpharetta's technology corridor when it is purchased by Per-Se Technology, Inc. The sale, announced late last month, is worth an estimated $1 billion. Per-Se will acquire the physician, hospital and retail pharmacy businesses of NDCHealth, a leading provider of healthcare technology and information solutions.

The acquisition of the complementary companies will combine Per-Se's Connective Healthcare solutions for hospitals and their affiliated physicians with NDCHealth's technology and network solutions that automate information exchange among physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and payers. In essence, the sale will improve provider organizations' financial success through improving information flow and streamlining processes.

The sale is expected to increase Per-Se's revenue by 60 percent in the year following the merger.
