The company has recently announced the hiring of Tony Abruzzio as vice president of U.S. Merchant Product Solutions. In his capacity, Abruzzio will help Global Payments continue to develop cutting-edge technology solutions and capitalize on new opportunities within the industry. Abruzzio will be responsible for overseeing and directing the company's terminal-based, Certified Application Provider (CAP) and related merchant product initiatives.

Abruzzio joins Global Payments from VeriFone, Inc., where he successfully integrated GO Software into the company's product line. Prior to VeriFone, he spent six years with GO Software, where he developed two leading payment processing solutions - one a Windows-based solution and the other JAVA-based.

Abruzzio received his MBA from Auburn University, and completed his undergraduate studies at Armstrong Atlantic University, receiving a BBA in Information Systems. He is a member of the Green Sheet Advisory Council and is currently Chairman of the Technology Committee for the Electronic Transactions Association.
